I've played guitar 30 years..this is my learning violin. Honestly, the finish is far from great but everything else is solid. I had no problems with setup and tuning. If the question is, am i happy with this low priced instrument? Yes. It will do just fine as a student model.

Ordered this for my daughter very last minute on a Sunday. Had to go with express shipping to get it asap...it was at my residence by Tuesday afternoon! Very great quality, great starter violin along with a very nice case as well...definitely recommend!!
For the price this cannot be beat. Sound is not bad at all. I let it rest at home temperature for a day or two before attempting to set the bridge or tune. I also loosened the strings slightly before setting the bridge and allowed strings to rest before small tightenings. No trouble with broken strings. I forgot how much rosin a new bow needs (a ton) to make clear sound. I ended up using darker rosin I had on hand to get a fuller sound (the light rosin provided is very lightweight). As expected, it fell out of tune almost immediately, but through lots of retuning and over the course of a practice session we were beginning to see the tuning hold longer. I am confident that as the strings acclimate to their stretch they will hold tune well. Strings are adequate.
I'm a 92 yr old who played stand up bass for many years including one year for a state symphony orchestra. I am interested in playing melodies on an instrument that would be familiar to me. My bass is too big and heavy now for this old man. Your cello seems ok although a little disappointed at the fingerboard being wood painted black. In any event I'm happy with it, not exstatic but at my age if I live long enough and get fairly good at it I'll buy a better instrument. Since my brain is accustomed to the bass clef I tuned it just like my bass and played the Ave Maria the very first attempt without missing a note.
I'm a beginning cello player and find this instrument to be great for starters. The craftsmanship I find impressive for the price, and the sound is beautiful. I'm so glad I bought it. I liked it so much, I just ordered my mom a violin from you!
Very nice violin for beginners!!! A very nice company to do business with! I had an issue with the bow and they immediately sent me a new one!!! Highly recommend for the price you get everything you need to start ! Yay
I played the violin many years ago and decided to pick it back up as a hobby. This violin is perfect for that. You get everything you need to be able to start. Overall, this was a great purchase.
Had a friend who plays professionally play my Violin and he said it sounded good to him (which says a lot for the price). He sounded great to me! Friend did suggest a new shoulder rest which I bought and I'm enjoying.
I bought this violin to reacquaint myself with playing. It was relatively easy to set up and start playing. It has a good sound and plays well. I'm certain the sound will open up more the more that I play it.
Our daughter has been playing violin for almost 3 years. She recently measures into a full size 4/4. This is the same company we bought her 1/2 size violin.
There is so much included in the price. It is a student quality violin. It has a nice sound, but not the expensive violin sound. We expected this and we are pleased with this purchase. Daughter said the rest is good and she was able to get the bow rosined, and the violin tuned and playing well in about 20 minutes.
My grand daughter took to it like a natural! Very pleased with the violins construction and the accessories that came with it! A spare bow and set of strings was a nice touch!
I'm an adult that wanted to start learning violin for the first time. This violin is beautiful, all-wood,and everything came as expected. It's not a very high quality violin, but it is excellent for it's price point. The case is great, the tuner is ok, not the best design but adequate and nice that they included it in this kit. Great beginner violin set.
Everything works. The sound is loud and well-balanced. To hear any meaningful difference in blind testing you'd probably have to shell out $2K more.
If you are a music lover, you should like and protect your instrument. Violin strings are very important, and the violin can't play wonderful music without the strings.
Good strings should have good sound quality, fast tuning, stable pitch, good playability (fingers feel safe, strings react quickly) and long life. The strings used by different instruments are different, and the material of the strings greatly affects the tone of the instrument. The tension of the string is necessary for the string. The tension level is generally divided into five levels: ultra-low, low, medium, high and ultra-high. The higher the tension, the thicker the string. The thicker the strings, the more mellow the sound.
When you are using an instrument, you first need to learn how to adjust the strings, followed by the installation of the code and the use of the bow, especially for beginners of a musical instrument.
