It didn't tell me when it arrived so I had to guess and check everyday but other then that the product itself works great and looks fantastic I will definitely be buying again .
As a first violin for my child's school orchestra class, it is ideal. She says it's comfortable to hold and doesn't feel heavy, even after a long practice.
The craftsmanship is decent for the price. The body and fittings feel solid. The tone isn't perfect for concert hall quality, but for lessons and home practice it's absolutely acceptable.
Outstanding service and value. Order was completed quickly and accurate. Delivery was ON TIME and tracking number emailed in advance. GREAT value and quality for the price. I will gladly recommend Glarry to all acquaintances.. WELL DONE!
It's harder to tune and harder to get rosin to work on this violin than on the full sized one from Glarry (V402), and there are more options at full size. But this is the only one currently offered in this size, I think. It's certainly a decent value for only $60 to get a case and a violin and a bow, so that's good. The little on this is for doesn't really practice yet, so it's hard to assess how it will work out.

Assembly of the bridge and initial tuning is fairly easy, but the tuning does also slip easily and needs to be retuned a bunch at first. I am hopeful that will improve with time, but we shall see. The rosin is difficult to apply, even after scoring the block of rosin, but hopefully it will build up over time on the bow and strings and enable a playable sound.
For the price of $60, you probably can't find a cheaper one that comes with a bow and case. Not having any other 1/4 size violins to compare it to, it's hard to make a comparison. But the little one enjoys just having a violin. So I'm not disappointed with the purchase. It's a very small investment for an introduction to music making.
For the price, it seems like a very good value. The case is nice and has a humidity sensor, and the set includes two bows, an extra set of strings, and more. The bridge must be installed by the user but it is not difficult to do. The tuning likes to slip a little bit right out of the box, but I imagine/hope this will probably improve with time as the strings get used to their stretched length. Same thing with the rosin- it's a little hard to coat the strings and bow well at first, but will get easier as some rosin builds up on both. Unlike the smaller size violin, this was easier to cover it with rosin and start producing a sound on the strings.
I think the sound is not bad. It's obviously not going to be as good as a very expensive violin, but it seems perfectly adequate to learn on, and I'm satisfied with the purchase.
I bought this violin for my son. It was very easy to get set up and actually produced a great sound without too much trouble. It is a great choice for a beginner for the price.
Even the music store we took it to for a tune-up (didn't end up needing tuning at all) said it was great quality! They couldn't believe the price. Perfect for my 11-year-old.
I purchased this violin as a backup for my main instrument. While it's not a professional-grade violin, it offers excellent value for the price. The tone is warm, and it holds tuning well after initial setup. The case and bows included are also of decent quality.
I use this violin mainly for home practice. The tone is surprisingly warm for an entry-level instrument, and it holds tuning fairly well. The lightweight design makes it comfortable for long sessions.
Difficult to keep tuned. The hairs on the bow break very easily. Violin itself is good quality and the sound is good. Probably a better practice violin than a performance violin.
The Glarry GV406 exceeded my expectations. Highly recommend for beginners!
