I am super excited to surprise my grandson with his first bass! I never thought I could afford one for him. He will be thrilled.
I ordered another really cool guitar for him, but I'm saving it for his birthday. He saw the box and knew we had just looked at that guitar a couple of nights before. They come really fast :)
Now he will get the surprise for Chanukah and the other one for the birthday.
With this price I could afford two guitars.
Arrived in pristine condition. Finish and fit are awesome, a beautiful instrument! I wanted to explore 5-string bass and this bass feels incredible! After a setup and intonation it performs beautifully. Lovely grain and the pickups really deliver. If a maple fretboard becomes available I will purchase another!
Loved my new Bass! I do have small hands and the neck is a little on the big side, plays well and very sensitive. There were some small scratches when it arrived which was kind of sad 'cause it was brand new. I did give a 5 star but a 4.7 would have been what I wanted to do, but round up you know.
The bass arrived today and it is incredibly excellent for the price! I wish I had this 50 years ago when I was bassing in bands (this is for my daughter). Only thing, the case is too short. I guess it's a standard guitar bag. Requested a longer one from CS.
Also, I was unable to track the shipment through PayPal so I emailed customer service at Glarry and they responded with tracking info. That means a lot to me. I'll be buying more stuff.
Another fantastic bass! I have purchased 5 glarry basses, 3 fretless and two fretted. I can't say how amazing the basses are. I can't believe how silent the jazz basses are,I get more hum from my fenders then my glarrys.and the 5 string jazz bass are fantastic, that low b sounds just as clean as the e string.will be picking up another bass asap. Shipping is fast I just wish they had more colors for the fretless basses.
It is a good value P-Bass copy (actually a Glarry Bass.) The natural finish looks superb, a light weight body, so has a little neck dive. Played pretty good out of the box. There were a few sharp frets that required filing. I also gave the back of the neck a very light rub with 1200 grit sandpaper for a smoother finish. The fretboard is quite dry so will benefit from a little lemon oil shortly.
Wow! I ordered on a Friday afternoon and was playing it Monday! I added some lighter strings and lowered the action so it is easier to play. The alignment of the pickups is offset, but it seems to sound fine; the tones coming out of it are great. It is cosmetically perfect. The little amp is awesome! I would highly recommend this setup to anyone starting out.
This is a very nice 5 string bass at a super reasonable price. Plays well and sounds decent. I'm glad it has a similar shape to a P bass, with split-coil pickups. Lots of potential!
My big gripe is that it is advertised as having a 1.656" nut width, which was my main deciding factor on buying this. Well, it turns out the nut on this bass is pretty much the same as the other Glarry 5'ers: 1.77". For some reason, I just don't get along with this nut width. I need to decide whether to return it or do a bit of lutherie/modification to it. It is a great price point for any modding, no doubt. All-in-all, it is an excellent bass and well worth the price !!
Over all, a bass worth the price. It required a setup and still requires some electrical work as there is a noticeable ground hum and harsh fret ends that extend beyond the fretboard.. That being said, if you know what you're doing when setting up guitars/basses, this is a good value and certainly worth the price. If you don't know your way around guitar/bass mechanics you may need to go someplace to try before you buy any bass.
At these price points, I think expecting a perfectly setup instrument are honestly unrealistic. But I was pleasantly surprised that the neck is fairly well done. No fret buzz. No sharp fret ends. The saddles will require a bit of adjustment as well as intonation, but that is ten minutes of work compared to a "fret level and crown" which will NOT be required. The grounding isn't perfect, there is noticeable noise when I'm not touching the strings or bridge, but that is something I will rectify an ...At these price points, I think expecting a perfectly setup instrument are honestly unrealistic. The grounding isn't perfect, there is noticeable noise when I'm not touching the strings or bridge, but that is something I will rectify anyway because I bought this instrument as a "mod platform". New pickups, pots and pickguard are on the way. All-in-all I'm very satisfied. Shipping took too long, but that isn't Glarry's fault!
Not a bad starter guitar bass. The speaker is small but loud enough for practice. The only two things I didn't like were the cheap bag and very short power plug. I would add a longer power cord and just some hard foam in the inside of the guitar bag would make it safe to carry the bass.
This is a beautiful bass that plays really well. There has been a lot of attention to detail on this guitar with the fret inlays, the humbucker pick ups, and the finish. It is really sharp and fun to play. The only negative is that it has severe neck dive, but I am going to try to move the strap button for better balance. I highly recommend this bass.
Great guitar for the price, and the amp has a good sound too! I ordered the combo, and got it very fast, and it's a beautiful instrument! Would recommend to anyone looking for a more affordable option that has quality in the manufacturing! 5/5* - Customer in KY
There was some minor damage to the box from shipping, but not a fault of Glarry. The bass is bussin! Super tight action, lovely intonation, hella bright tones with plenty of pot swing to thicken up the sound. The 20w amp gives hella deep response for it's small size. I'm stoked for sho! No cap!
A fantastic bass for the money, especially if you put a little effort into setting it up. My bass really benefited from filing down the nut slots a bit. The nut was high out of the box for my taste, but now this bass plays really well.
I had a high mass bridge and Wilkinson pickup that I installed. They were an improvement, but definitely not necessary.
I ordered 3 different guitars, all Glarry instruments. I play left handed, with the strings reversed. All 3 guitars were right handed, so I flipped the nut around and restrung all to be lefty correct. I was really hoping that I would get a true lefty guitar, but there were none available. Will the intonation be affected by restringing the guitars?
let's stop the hate on this guitar literally I had it up and running very well in about 20 minutes 30 minutes I had to replace the strings with the round cuz my fingers are sensitive. but it sounds actually fantastic and as a starter fretle space I would definitely buy this before I would buy any of the other expensive units.
I received a burly wood GP bass on May 9, 2025. I was well packed and had no blemishes, scratches. Very nice, one rough area on the neck at first fret, corrected that with some 0000 steel wool. The bass was received with all 4 strings loose and found truss rod completely loose. I had to do a complete setup on the bass. I was a little surprised due to the reviews. It plays very well and sounds great, the finish overall is good.

Have to say pleasantly surprised by the setup and overall build quality. This is the second instrument I've purchased from Glarry, keep up the great work!
This Bass arrived 3 days after the order! I am very pleased with the build quality and finish. I ordered the "Brown" finish, it looks like polished Mahogany!
Minimal adjustments for relief, action, and intonation. I'm 73 years old, with 50 years of playing experience.
I recommend this Bass for any player.
Bought this bass about a year ago. What I wanted was just a fretless gear to mess around with, and for the price, it was a great deal.
I ordered the sunburst, but they reached out and said only burlywood was available. Ended up getting that.
If you want something playable out of the box, this probably isn't it. I had to fix the intonation myself (you can take it to somewhere to do these fixes for you). Pickups aren't great either. You can maybe get a decent sound with some pedals and effects.
It's pretty lightweight but a bit neck-heavy. The strap, pick, and cable that come with it are junk. I tossed them with the stock strings.
Overall, good if you're ready to do a little setup.
Learning bass guitars do make you stand out from the crowd. The lead guitar usually expresses the face and sound of the band with an exaggerated feel, but behind it is a bass guitar that brings vitality to the same band. The bass player usually calmly performs his own performance, making the entire band's energetic heartbeat continue to beat.
Playing a electric bass guitar is easy to learn, but it's hard to master, it all depends on where you want to match. Bass guitars are very easy to get started, most people can master the basics and start playing right away, but learning best bass guitars can also be very advanced, because it is an easy-to-use instrument that can be almost as infinite as possible. The right quality of the correct tuning and playing bass guitar and the richness of the rich tones are truly fascinating. Being a bass guitar player and being able to create such a sound yourself is still a much more exciting.
