OK I have played 60 years. For the price of this guitar, if you know how to set up an instrument, it's definitely worth it. Needed complete set up out of the box. Some glue residue in the FHole, which was easily removed. Pick up height needed adjustment and that necessitated the removal of pick guard. Neck completely dry needed major neck dressing. Truss rod needed complete adjustment. Bridge hardware problematic, but usable. Obviously, replace strings immediately. Now… Once I got it, nearly tuned up and adjusted string height and intonation… Sounds surprisingly good with the neck pick up. And I have a 1966 telecaster with Maple cap and hum bucker. It is nowhere near that guitar but… It is entirely playable especially if you'd like a thicker neck. Some people will not like the neck I don't mind it. It could be shaped a bit better…. bottom line… Was $128 with free delivery and the little amplifier. Haven't tried the amp. I suspect it's a joke, but this guitar with a bit more set up it's going to be usable. But you have to know how to set up an instrument or it's basically useless…

I bought two Glarry GTLs one on Amazon and one from Glarry. Both instruments came with their own unique issues. The first one I bought had a really off neck pocket that I had to sand and shim. The frets also required to be leveled. And on top of that the truss rod hole was not aligned with the actual truss rod. So I had to carefully file out the truss rod hole to make a neck relief adjustment (before doing the fret level ofc). After addressing these issues and adding some extra bells and whist ...

I bought two Glarry GTLs one on Amazon and one from Glarry. Both instruments came with their own unique issues. The first one I bought had a really off neck pocket that I had to sand and shim. The frets also required to be leveled. And on top of that the truss rod hole was not aligned with the actual truss rod. So I had to carefully file out the truss rod hole to make a neck relief adjustment (before doing the fret level ofc). After addressing these issues and adding some extra bells and whistles (pickups, new nut and bridge) it's pretty nice. Now the second GTL I bought I gave the same treatment as the first (new nut, pickups and bridge). This one again required a fret level. But this time I only had to sand and shim the neck pocket slightly (much better fit than the first one). I thought those were the only issues...until I looked under the hood. Oh...boy several screw holes on the body had been miss drilled once INCLUDING the bridge mounts. Also the bridge pickup route is visible with the bridge installed. These problem, though major; can be fixed will some dowels and wood glue and they were. The only issue I can't do anything about is the through body string ferrules on the second GTL do not sit proud of the body like they are in the item photos or like my first GTL. This issue is only cosmetic but it does bother me because the second GTL is going to be a gift. Also as an aside, the humbucker that came with the second GTL has a 49.2 mm pole spacing while the first GTL has 50 mm spacing. This confused me abit when I tried to install the same 50mm humbucker model I used to mod the first GTL. The 49.2 mm cover on the second GTL doesn't really quite fit the new humbucker. So I got a extra 50mm cover on the way. Tldr, when buying one of these GTL expect issues /inconsistencies and be prepared to put some work into them in order to make them usable.

I got the blue one and for the price, it's a good value. Quality control at this price point is somewhat hit and miss, but from what I've read, Glarry is easy to work with if you do have a problem. Mine had a tone knob that was drilled crooked, so it would rub in one spot. I had one lying around that matched, so no big deal. I also decided to replace the plastic nut. A word of caution. I tried buying a standard 42mm pre-slotted nut, but the slot in the neck was cut too deep. I ended up having to ...

That's not a job you can tackle without a few hundred dollars worth of specialized tools. I also changed out the tuning machines. The fret work on mine was really good. No high frets or sharp ends. The stock pickups are fine for my needs. I play at home, and do some luthier work as a hobby. Overall I'm happy with this guitar, and I will probably buy more Glarry products in the future.

Great guitar! Great Sound! Great value! Beautiful natural Burlywood. Fit and finish are superb, with no flaws to be seen. Plays well right out of the box, but after a basic set up, including setting the action, check intonation, condition the fretboard, polish the frets, and a fresh set of strings, and this becomes a real players guitar. If you wanted, you could go further and polish the neck or change to your favorite pickups, but that's purely personal choice. The semi hollow design even sound ...

Tuners do their job and hold tune very well, but if your a extreme bender, a set of locking tuners would be a good add on. The amp is pretty good for a starter kit to practice with at home. An overdrive circuit, volume and gain controls as well as treble and bass levels allow me to tailor the sound to my liking. The added accessories, cover, strap, cable and pick are basic but do their job. if I could suggest one improvement it would be the gig bag, add a few dollars to the price and upgrade to a padded bag.

I've bought several Glarry guitars and this is my favorite by far. My only recommendations would be to install good strings on it and set it up. Intonation was pretty far off and the strings Glarry puts on at the factory are of low quality.

I've read lots of reviews on the GTL. Mostly positive and I love the look of the guitar, So I decided to take the leap and see with $110 buys. No problem in shipping. Guitar was well protected. Love the look of the guitar. The red and pearloid pick guard are beautiful. But... I was disappointed in the playability of the guitar. Several (9) of the frets were high, needed to be leveled and crowned. There was bad fret sprout all the way up and down both sides of the neck. The action was really high ...

Love the look of the guitar. The red and pearloid pick guard are beautiful. But... I was disappointed in the playability of the guitar. Several (9) of the frets were high, needed to be leveled and crowned. There was bad fret sprout all the way up and down both sides of the neck. The action was really high and the set screws on several of the bridge barrels were frozen and difficult to move. The edges of the F hole were not sanded or at least not sanded well. So I removed the strings, leveled and crowned the frets, filed off the rough edges on the fret ends and dressed them, gently sanded the inside of the F hole so it looked better, restrung it, adjusted the truss rod and dropped the action to make it playable. After Setting it up, the humbucker at the neck sounded fine, but the bridge pick up was weak and not balanced, even after raising it up and dropping the humbucker down. I really like the look, and once I switch out the bridge pu, it will probably be a nice guitar. Maybe I got a lemon. Maybe it sat in the warehouse too long. Wish I got one that other reviews rave about, but I didn't. I'll keep it and use it for mods, but based on my experience with this one guitar, I can't recommend you buy this guitar. I wish I could. Two stars because it looks great

In this particular case the neck pocket appears to be misaligned and so the high E side sits about a 3/32nds of an inch higher that the low E side in the pocket, causing it to twist just a bit. The neck itself is fine, but the pocket itself is not properly flat. For me it's fixable, just a terrible nuisance. The fretwork was ...

The neck itself is fine, but the pocket itself is not properly flat. For me it's fixable, just a terrible nuisance. The fretwork was fine and, when using a fret rocker, I didn't have any high frets. The nut has some problems with being cut way too high, (even higher than normal budget standards), but again I have the tools to fix it or I'll replace it. Lots (and I mean LOTS... I could start my own sawmill) of extra sawdust left in the various cavities and the tuners were so loose on the headstock they would rattle if you shook it. The F hole was cut ok, but could probably have been better. Given the problem with the neck pocket, I can't get a good feel for the bridge, but by all appearances it seems solid and stable. I don't see any issues with the barrels that give me concern if the neck was sitting properly in the pocket. Again, keep in mind that on budget guitars these are the kinds of problems you will run into. But since I bought this as a platform for modification, I'm not going to bother returning it. If you are a beginner, just make sure you budget some money for a proper setup so that these types of issues can be found and fixed. Update November 14, 2022: I am revising my original review at this time. I would re-rate this as 4 stars had I gone ahead and sent it back at the time I discovered the neck pocket was out of spec. Final determination is that the neck pocket was 3mm (1/8th inch) too shallow. Since I could not route the body due to the finish, I thought I would sand the heel of the neck, however had a problem with my sander that caused damage to the neck that was entirely my fault. My suggestion is that if you get one that is not in good shape, reach out to their customer service and they will make it right. In this case, since I caused further issue with the guitar, that problem is on me and I will not be asking for refund or credit. Chalking it up to lesson learned. Contact customer service first. I've seen many Glarry guitars over the years and they have been reasonably good. I just got the one lemon that invariably occurs when making a budget instrument. Again, just get with customer service and they WILL take good care of you as evidenced by previous reviews here.

Update: As I noted, I had not planned to ask for a refund or credit, but one of the managers at Glarry reached out offered a credit, which I gladly accepted. I did not expect it and as I said previously this is the great level of customer service that you can expect from these folks. Thanks, Glarry, and I plan to put that aside to order a Strat copy soon. Thanks for the great support of your products.
