Melodies of Hope: Glarry's Gift of Music to Richmond County Students

In a recent heartwarming initiative, Glarry Music has generously donated a batch of violins to the 21st Century Community Learning Centers' Afterschool and Summer program, offering crucial support to economically disadvantaged students in Richmond County.

The 21st Century program is set to serve 120 students per site during the 2023-2024 school year, focusing on Wilkinson Gardens Elementary, Hornsby Elementary, and Barton Chapel Elementary. The program prioritizes creating a safe educational environment for students from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The lead teachers of each school, Tamera Butler, Dr. Deldra McCord, and Marquesia Mason-Darby have been actively involved in championing this impactful initiative.

Recognizing the significance of this grand undertaking, Glarry Music quickly engaged in discussions with Jennifer Branch, the Program Director/Family Coordinator, to determine the best ways to collaborate and contribute. The donated violins are available in both 3/4 and full size (4/4), ensuring that students of varying ages can participate in the violin classes offered by the program.

As the arrangements for the donation progress and the project unfolds, the violin classes are scheduled to commence weekly from October, culminating in a solo recital in May 2024. We look forward to the day when our children spread their musical wings and soar to new heights, eagerly awaiting the air to be filled with melodies.
